Clarine Furstenau

A Celebration of Life visitation for Clarine F. Furstenau, age 87, of Neligh, was Monday, May 13, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh. Private burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. 

Clarine died Saturday, May 11, at Neligh Care and Rehabilitation in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com.

Clarine Faye was born Feb. 15, 1932 to Arthur and Lula (Weyhrich) Huwaldt at her grandparent’s home in Norfolk. She attended country school District 35 and graduated from Neligh High School with the class of 1949. 

On Feb. 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to Uen Furstenau at Crawford Valley Methodist Church in rural Plainview. She helped on the farm, side by side with Uen. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, following grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ activities. She was a member of Willowdale Homemakers Club and Crawford Valley Methodist Church. 

She is survived by husband, Uen Furstenau of Neligh; children, Randy (Karen) Furstenau of Strasburg, Colo. and Rhonda (Dave) Jedlicka of Schuyler; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and sisters, Elaine (Clare) Jones of Puyallup, Wash. and Carol Rossow of Tilden.

Clarine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vernon and sister, LaVon; sisters-in-law, June Huwaldt, Nadine Furstenau, Gladys Furstenau, Dolly (Walter) Hansen and brother-in-law, Dale Moon.
